
What: NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen will visit members of the Georgia National Guard to honor their service and highlight their role in NATO’s military operations abroad. The visit will include remarks by the Secretary General, as well as a question-and-answer session with Georgia Guardsmen, and a visit by the Secretary General to three Georgia Guard aircraft that have served with NATO: The E-8C JSTARS, the C-130, and the UH-60 Blackhawk. Should the media wish one-on-one interviews with the Secretary General, please contact Ken Baldowski, (678) 569-6064 and we will attempt to accommodate these requests.
When: Monday, May 09, 2011 at 2:40 p.m. Press should arrive between 1:30 and 2:00 and must be escorted while on base. Contact Ken Baldowski (below) for credentialing procedures.

Visuals: Remarks by the Secretary General to approximately 150 Soldiers and Airmen in uniform, with a short Q&A session (by Guardsmen). Then, tour of two large aircraft and the Blackhawk helicopter, with stand-up interviews in front of the aircraft.
Background: Secretary General Rasmussen is visiting four U.S. cities on this visit to honor the U.S. military. He has chosen to visit Georgia Guardsmen because of their role serving alongside NATO.
