Clay National Guard Center, Sept. 15, 2010 – A memorial service to honor the life and service of Sgt. 1st Class Edgar N. Roberts of Hinesville is scheduled for Sept. 18, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the Main Post Chapel, Building 500, 10 Calvary Way at Fort Stewart.  Brigadier Gen. Maria Britt, Commanding General of the Georgia Army National Guard, will represent the Georgia National Guard at the memorial ceremony.

Roberts died August 17, 2010 as a result of injuries sustained in a combat related incident on June 26, 2010 in Afghanistan.  He was assigned to the 810th Engineer Company, Georgia Army National Guard, headquartered in Swainsboro, GA.
